While in the Mojave, I spent a lot of time in Joshua Tree National Park, and one of my favorite areas there is the vast cholla garden. At sunset, before the light dips behind the adjacent mountains, it shines through the delicate cholla plants, illuminating them like sparkling lanterns, gold and green and rusty red. The title "Luminary" is my nod to the prickly and delicate chollas of the Mojave.
